Why did you choose Ratcliffe College?
I chose Ratcliffe because for its captivating campus, diverse range of trips and opportunities, and the vibrant international community. What stood out to me the most was the boarding house, offering a space in the boarding lounge where you can socialise with others and allows you to be independent, necessary for life at university.
What is boarding life like?
Life in boarding is a balance between relaxation and discipline. We follow a structured routine, starting with a morning routine of breakfast, laundry, and room checks. We engage in lessons throughout the school day, with prep to end the day, where we continue our studies. In the evening we have the opportunity to cook in the kitchen, adding a communal and independent aspect to our daily routine.
What do you like the most about boarding?
I like the strong sense of community, which has allowed me to form lifelong friendships. The overall experience has been enriching, with optional trips adding excitement, and activities in the sports hall and gym, providing opportunities for physical activity. The Sixth Form socials have been an enjoyable addition to the boarding experience.
How well did you settle into boarding?
I quickly settled into life at Ratcliffe, thanks to the welcoming community that made me feel like part of the family. The support from the staff has been invaluable, and I found it easy to relate to the other new boarders. I was able to interact with the younger boarders too, making the settling-in process more enjoyable.
What do you plan to do when you leave Ratcliffe College?
I plan to study at the University of Arts London, to pursue my passion for film and begin a career as a Director.
Would you recommend boarding at Ratcliffe College?
