Stage 1 of the annual FutureChef competition took place in the Food Science department on Monday the 8th October during prep time. The challenge was to make a main course meal for 2 people costing no more than £5 in 60 minutes. There were 5 competitors on the evening the atmosphere in the Food department was of excitement and anticipation. All entries received points for their house.
The winner of Stage 1 was Teagan Rowlinson who made fishcakes with lemon sauce, which showed many different skills in the time given, her sauce was just delightful. The runner-up was Kyan Gohill who made egg fried rice with chicken. The judges on the evening were Lucy Grinham, Charlotte Newberry and Mrs Burton. Congratulations to all competitors and we all would like to wish Teagan and Kyan good luck as they both go forward to Stage 2 of the competition in November at Loughborough College.
