We are delighted to announce that we have successfully reached our target of £50,000 towards the Emery Library appeal. Thanks to the generous contributions of over 30 families, alumni, and staff, this remarkable milestone has been achieved, and we are now in the process of transforming our beloved Library.
Builders moved in as soon as the doors closed at the end of term, and the refurbishment project is well underway.
We are especially grateful for one of our large donations from an alumnus of the College who has dedicated a room to the rear of the Library in honour of his parents, who supported his studies through Ratcliffe in the 1970’s. This generous contribution is a testament to the value the College holds in former students’ hearts and minds and exemplifies what it means to ‘give back’.
The newly refurbished Emery Library will be an inspirational, purpose-built educational hub featuring contemporary furniture, reading booths, and cutting-edge technology. These improvements will create a vibrant learning space where Ratcliffe students can thrive and excel in their studies for many years to come.
Building on our Reading Matters initiative, which encourages all students to read for pleasure, the new environment will inspire many more students to make reading a part of their daily routine. This project is more than just a refurbishment; it is an investment in the future of our students, fostering a legacy of learning, curiosity, and personal growth.
There is still an opportunity for you to get your name on the interior of the new space. If you would like your family name listed as a donor or if you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, please contact Mrs Liston before Sunday 28th July 2024, at LListon@ratcliffecollege.com. After this date we will not be able to print any more names.
We are grateful for the unwavering support from our community and look forward to unveiling the new Emery Library in the Autumn Term.
