Army Section Summer Camp: Nescliff 2018
A week of early starts and full on days. The week consisted of a mixture of military skills, adventure training and our own contingent exercise. Congratulations to Will Oswell winning the short range shooting competition and to the whole contingent for coming third in the observation stand.
RAF Section Summer Camp, RAF Boulmer
RAF section summer camp this year at RAF St Mawgan was made even more fantastic by the glorious weather, especially for the beach activities, BBQ, coasteering, giant paddle board and several meals out. Cadets also had the opportunity to go on the skywire at the Eden project, DCCT on base, 100 metre range, drill competition and training on the Penhale training ground.
Summer AT camp, Cyprus
Three, ten-day camps in Cyprus were brilliant! Open to both RAF and Army cadets, we had six cadets attend this year. Grace Clark, camp 1, Matthew Lindley and Arran Grant, camp 2 and Joshua Bellamy, Max Chapman and Sam Seidu, camp 3. It was hot, but the taster AT sessions mixed with gorgeous weather and making great new friends, made the camps go so quick. Scuba, rock climbing, High Ropes, Go Karting, hiking through a gorge and waterfall, beach team games, water sports, clay pigeon shooting, escape rooms, lots of meals out ending in a last night party … we hope we will entice lots of others to sign up for next year?
Any student from Year 9 to 13 is welcome to join the CCF and get involved in the wide range of activities available. Our first parade is tomorrow, Tuesday 4th September, so if you intend to remain in the CCF or wish to join, you must be there at 4.30pm in the square.
