On Wednesday 26th September, Archaeologist, Dr Matthew Morris, gave a fascinating talk on Roman Leicester. Through his extensive experience of major urban excavations in Leicester, Dr Morris emphasised the importance of the location of Roman Leicester as a hub for military units for other areas in Roman Britain and elaborated on some of the distinctive features of Roman architecture in Leicestershire with examples of inscriptions and objects.
