On Wednesday 7th March 2018, a group of seventeen Year 9 students attended the launch of the science and engineering competition, Go4SET, held at the Engineering and Science Learning Centre within the University of Nottingham’s City Campus. The 17 science enthusiasts were Temi Adiodun, Rachel Astill, Henry Coombs, Joe Davies, Will Evans, Xavier Henderson, Elliot Lindop, Joe Maguire, Mustafa Mamujee, Jacob McCahill, Dan McGunnigle, Harran Mokha, Sam Moss, Tycho Parkes, Dan Sykes, Marley Totton and Xavier Zanotti Baranano. The students have been split into three separate teams and each team has carefully chosen their project theme, and begun their initial discussions. In 10 school weeks’ time, their projects will be formally assessed at the Go4SET Celebration and Assessment Day.
By providing a real and live Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) project, Go4SET will raise the pupils’ awareness and highlight the exciting future career opportunities in STEM. Good luck to the students!
