On Tuesday 13th March, the U11A hockey team had a fantastic afternoon of hockey playing in the county hockey tournament at Leicester Grammar. The girls played three games against Fairfield, Dixie Grammar and Leicester Grammar. The first game was against Fairfield, who were an incredibly strong team.
In the first half we were down 3-0, but in the second half we were defending well and the final score was 4-0 to Fairfield. However, the girls were not disheartened and they were determined to do well in their next match. They played brilliantly against Dixie Grammar and really found their rhythm, winning 9-0.
The final match was against Leicester Grammar, which was a very tense game. We defended well and attacked hard and he final score was 1-0 to us. The girls were ecstatic to hear that they had qualified for the next round of the tournament and will now play at regionals in April. Well done to all girls, you have made Miss Stanley very proud!
Coach’s player: Mollie Hunt, who was an outstanding captain and hockey player.
